Dacres commercial completes Bedale land sale
An 18-unit residential development site in Bedale has been sold off-market by the Land & Development division of Dacres Commercial to a Wetherby-based housebuilder. Planning consent for 18 new homes at Cringlefields in Little Crakehall near Bedale in the heart of The Dales was granted last month, and Newett Homes anticipate that it will start construction of the scheme before the end of the year. Matthew Brear, senior associate at Dacres Commercial, said: “Through an introductory process using our in-depth knowledge of the market and active developers, we generated multiple bids for the opportunity and managed a competitive process for the 1.2-acre site, before agreeing the sale to Newett Homes.” Five of the 18 homes will be affordable and the other 13 will be a mix of two, three and four bedroomed terraces, semi-detached and detached homes. There will also be two, two-bedroom bungalows. The properties are due to complete by December 2022. Owner of Newett Homes, Will Newett, said: “We currently have two developments in North Yorkshire and are delighted to be starting a third soon. This third North Yorkshire site, close to Bedale, is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking for a quality home in the heart of a historic and attractive village. With a church, attractive village green and delightful beck, Little Crakehill is the gateway of Wensleydale. With Bedale and all its amenities just two miles away, as well as easy access to the A1(M), it’s a great location that will certainly appeal to a wide range of homebuyers.”
