Wet civil engineering firm opens hub in Newcastle Upon Tyne
A wet civil engineering firm has extended to the North of England as it opens up a new regional hub in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The new hub opened this month and will become Land & Water’s eighth location in the UK. This coincides with the firm securing contracts throughout the region including a framework contract with the Environment Agency to carry out works such as vegetation clearance around waterways.
Land & Water’s construction director, Kevin Kirkland, said: “Opening up our northern hub is incredibly significant for Land & Water as it shows our commitment to North East development, maintaining and enhancing the UK’s waterways for years to come.
“We are extremely proud to be cementing ourselves as one of the leading wet civil engineering firms in the North.”
The expansion to North East England comes at a period of growth for Land & Water as it continues to work on projects across the UK and bring in new team members and harness sustainable solutions.
The firm has recently committed towards using HVO fuel on all of its projects, which is up to 90+ per cent net carbon neutral and fully biodegradable, as part of its pledge to become carbon net zero by 2030.
