THG Detect celebrates multiple successes at prestigious national awards ceremony

Innovative anti-fraud technology developed by Manchester-based THG plc has won national industry recognition at the Retail Risk Fraud Awards 2021.

THG Detect, which is used by THG’s own brands and third-party THG Ingenuity clients, won Most Innovative Online Retail Risk Management Solution for the second year in a row.

THG also scooped awards for distinction within its in-house fraud team, winning Regional Profit Protection Manager of the Year and Retail Risk Director of the Year. In addition, THG Detect was Highly Commended in the Loss Prevention Online/Supply Chain Team of the Year category.

The proprietary fraud prevention solution was developed by THG in response to frustrations that the majority of fraud engines on the market do not meet the unique needs of global direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses. THG Detect, however, was built by retailers and ecommerce experts to power the growth of its own global operations and now delivers these same results for third-party clients.

The platform is powered by machine learning to identify fraud, enable merchants to operate in a safe environment, and deliver a seamless buying experience by allowing customers to transact with confidence. Since using THG Detect for its own brands, THG has seen a significant reduction in the five primary areas it uses for fraud platform monitoring.

The Retail Risk Fraud Awards recognise the most cutting-edge technology, alongside best-in-class teams and their commitment to delivering excellence in anti-fraud that makes a tangible difference to the businesses they serve.
