Oldham IT firm set for 2022 growth
An Oldham IT firm is set for double digit growth in 2022 as the education and business sectors resume ‘business as usual’.
Fingertip Solutions, based at the Hollinwood Business Centre on Albert Street in the town, says demand for their services is on the increase following a relatively quiet period during the pandemic.
Serving clients predominately in the education and manufacturing sectors, new enquiries and demand from existing customers were seriously impacted by lockdown. But, according to managing director, Austin Pass, the company is seeing a strong surge in enquiries from across its client base.
Commenting he said, “We have a significant presence in large manufacturing companies across the North West and act as an outsourced IT department, servicing all their needs. When lockdown hit and factories closed or went on to shorter hours, the demands for IT support from our clients changed radically.
“Instead of supporting their systems onsite, overnight we were having to provide training on the use of videoconferencing and enabling new methods of remote working.
“Our other specialist area is schools. We look after the IT needs of schools across Oldham, Tameside, Stockport, Manchester and Kirklees. We are typically busy supporting these schools on a day to day basis but that wasn’t required during lockdown.”
What the business is seeing now is companies carrying out reviews of their existing equipment and a desire to invest for future growth.
“It’s a really exciting time for us. There appears to be a lot of pent up demand. Projects that were about to start pre-Covid are now being re-visited and we are seeing many companies who are gearing up for growth.
“Of course we are once again busy with our school clients and have discussions underway for some IT infrastructure upgrades that heads and governing bodies are keen to put in place to future-proof education provision in the event of future lockdowns.”
The company is coming up to a particularly busy time as Christmas is when they can access many of their manufacturing clients’ sites as they shut down for the festive period, allowing the Fingertip Solutions team access to the on-site IT equipment.
“We are looking forward to a busy December and a year of growth in 2022 – we can’t wait.”
