Liverpool’s Popular Foodie Institution P&D Deli Celebrates Decade Of Italian Excellence
One of the city’s most loved Italian family run business P&D Deli is celebrating its 10th birthday.
Located in Williamson Square in the heart of the city centre, the award-winning eatery was opened back in 2012 by brothers Paolo and Donato Cillo, who wanted to bring their extensive Italian culinary experience to Liverpool.
With all food, including cakes, pastries and savoury dishes made inhouse in the building’s second floor ‘food lab’, P&D is a true family affair with Donato’s wife Antonietta heading up a team of bakers who start each day at 2am to ensure they have the produce that’s needed. The couple’s son Antonio manages a restaurant on the building’s first floor in the form of Brunchin’.
Donato said: “The last ten years has flown by, and I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to achieve. Every venture has been the result of so much hard work, dedication and knowledge of great Italian cuisine all put together.
“So much has changed in the past 10 years and to still be regarded as a go to in the Liverpool food scene is a big privilege for us.”
To celebrate their 10-year anniversary, P&D Deli will be offering an exclusive in-store discount of 10% to their very loyal customer base across Tuesday 25th – Thursday 27th January, on all purchases made within the deli.
He added: “I have worked in the hospitality industry my entire life, starting in Italy as a young man right up until I moved here to Liverpool. Our team is one big family, with each and every member putting their heart and soul into providing this great city with the food we know so well. We couldn’t have done it without our customers; some of which have been coming every single day since our inception.”
Despite a tough few years for the business, and the city’s hospitality industry as a whole, things are looking up for the team who are set to announce major expansion plans and a new opening in the next few months.
Donato said: “I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have coming next. Watch this space!”
