Growing telecoms law expert Trenches Law set for jobs boost following 200% revenue increase
Telecoms law specialist Trenches Law plans to recruit 30 more employees following a growing demand for its wayleave, commercial legal counsel, and Code powers expertise – all of which has led to a 200% uplift in revenue.
Throughout 2021, the organisation appointed 25 new recruits to help progress major projects, which included wayleave automation and legal support for Ogi’s £200 million full fibre project in South Wales and the completion of a Master Services Agreement between network provider ITS and its wholesalers and resellers.
Additionally, the team launched a service specifically designed to help commercial clients negotiate agreements to progress electric vehicle charge point installations as the UK drives towards a carbon-neutral future. The company has also been able to expand its Hampshire headquarters’ office space.
As a result of the year-on-year growth, Trenches Law has promoted several employees including wayleave manager, Katie Fosten, who has moved into a head of client services role, with colleagues Steve Sawley, Mike Thompson and Sarah Dale taking up client services manager positions.
Newly appointed duo Kevin Broome and Terry Stent have also come in as client services managers and Georgina Rudak recently qualified as a solicitor and has been promoted to head of legal.
During 2022, the organisation is preparing to launch further services to help bolster clients’ wayleave knowledge, unveil plans for an additional site in Yorkshire, and recruit another 30 employees – to bring the total headcount to 65.
Recently promoted staff member Katie Fosten said: “Our organisation is going through a huge period of transformation. It’s exciting to be a part of that and help drive towards further growth in 2022 and beyond.
“I want to continue to build positive and honest partnerships with all our clients so we can ensure that our specialist work is instrumental in the successful roll-out of their key developments.”
Speaking about the role the workforce will play in helping organisations to progress their telecoms build projects – no matter how complex – Trenches Law managing director Sharon McDermott, said: “Each team member has been instrumental in taking our company to the next level and we’ve got even more exciting plans in the pipeline to further expand our specialist offering.
“We have a group of motivators who have a wonderful rapport with our clients. Our employees’ enthusiasm and expertise will be critical in how we continue to roll-out even more telecoms-based services and technology-first solutions.”
Trenches Law is a trusted partner for some of the UK’s largest telecoms operators – such as WightFibre, toob, Ogi, Digital Infrastructure, ITS, F&W Networks and Virtual1 – as well as wholesalers and resellers as they roll-out their complex network builds. The team also provides commercial legal counsel which includes contract negotiations, drafting agreements, and applying for Code powers.
