Intercom Announces First EMEA Data Centre
Customer Communications platform, Intercom, has announced the opening of its first data centre in the EMEA region.
It allows the company to offer European data hosting where important data can remain entirely in Europe and stored in the AWS-eu-west-1 region.
Over the last few years, hosting data locally to a region has become a preference for businesses with specific needs, or within certain industry verticals. Many value the option of storing their data locally to their jurisdiction.
“We are committed to making sure the topic of data residency never causes unnecessary friction or concern for these businesses, and allowing them to concentrate on what’s most important: leveraging Intercom to grow their business and build relationships with their customers.” Said Oran O’Dowd, Director of Engineering at Intercom
“This was by far the biggest infrastructure project we have ever taken on” he continues “It was a daunting challenge, but our vision was clear: we needed to recreate the exact same Intercom experience and feature set to the same high standards of quality”
Intercom also announced that it aims to follow up with an Australian data hosting option next year.
This follows a lot of news of growth for Intercom recently as it was reported they were well past $200M ARR last month after being founded 10 years ago.
