New appointment for award-winning heating specialists Lord Combustion Services

A new contracts engineer has joined leading commercial heating specialists Lord Combustion Services as the company continues to grow on the back of an award-winning 2021 performance.

Lyndon Davis has come on board with the firm, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary year after being recognised for its high standards in serving more than 1000 customers across the West Midlands from its base in Dudley Road East, Oldbury.

Lyndon brings more than 30 years’ experience to Lord Combustion Services having worked in numerous technical roles for West Midlands engineering companies. Working with the Lord technical management team he will draw upon his knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering to support clients.

Lyndon said: “I am pleased to join the Lord team to deliver high quality services for customers. Working from the initial brief stage through to implementation, I will be able to draw upon my experience in engineering to build on Lord’s impressive success to date.”

In November Lord scooped two leading awards at the 2021 Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards, the service business of the year prize along with Emma Tibbetts winning director of the year, as well as the sustainability trophy at the West Midlands Business Masters Awards, organised by regional news website Business Desk.

Managing director Stuart Smith and the team at Lord Combustion Services were recognised for their achievements during the Covid-19 pandemic and successive lockdowns, as well as the later easing of restrictions.

Stuart Smith welcomed Lyndon’s appointment. Stuart said: “It is great to have Lyndon’s experience and skills on board as we celebrate Lord’s 40th anniversary. I have known Lyndon since around the time we both started out in our careers so I am excited to have him join as I am certain we will benefit from his extensive technical and engineering knowledge.”

Lord Combustion Services serve a broad range of customers including landmark buildings such as Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s Edgbaston cricket ground, through to NHS sites, schools and other public buildings.

Despite the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic and the phases of lockdown restrictions, the company reported a successful 2021 having grown revenues and profits while increasing staffing levels to nearly 50 employees.

Since it was formed in 1982, Lord Combustion Services has gone from originally being a mechanical contractor specialising in service and commissioning of gas and oil-fired equipment to now supporting customers across all aspects of mechanical and electrical building services.
