Inchcape scales its global digital and data analytics talent
As part of its digital transformation plans, Inchcape – the leading automotive distribution group – has significantly expanded its digital and data analytics capability globally.
Employing SkillsNow – a unique workforce management platform that offers HireNow, LearnNow, and DevelopNow capabilities to set new benchmarks of efficiency for global hiring, training, ongoing development and retention strategies – Inchcape has launched digital delivery centers in Bogota and Manilla with over 500 staff in under a year.
● Through HireNow Inchcape worked with local recruitment partners as well as its own talent acquisition team to source talent, with all job listings and candidate progression in one central platform to ensure progress and volume could be viewed, and quality tracked by Inchcape hiring managers from anywhere in the world.
● Via LearnNow Inchcape delivered its most efficient talent and skills effort. Training was deployed across two separate geographies and languages, building teams that will enable continuous innovation and 24-hour services for customers. To produce nine different job role types, the training was delivered 12 hours apart and across seven different technology streams – data analytics; cloud engineering; Salesforce; SAP; service management; digital platforms; and cyber security. SkillsNow successfully supported both assessment and training to deliver highly specialised, accredited training and enablement for in these digital skills.
● Offering continued support, DevelopNow provides employees with continuous professional development opportunities. This ensures progression for employees, while managers can track the training consumption and progression against set KPIs in a central platform, which can be tailored to each employee’s needs.
Founded in 1847 Inchcape now has over 14,500 employees across 40 countries. It is a £6.8 billion business with successful digital delivery and operations in APAC, UK, Europe, LATAM and Africa. To further scale, Inchcape chose to build new digital delivery centers (DDC) in Bogota, Colombia and Manilla, Philippines. Working with SkillsNow, Inchcape moved away from using separate hiring, training, ongoing development, and employee retention tools to utilize a more efficient and consistent process within a single platform.
Mark Dearnley, Group CDO of Inchcape, comments: “Partnering with SkillsNow has propelled our operations in Bogota and Manilla. By enhancing our recruitment and training processes we have successfully scaled our global digital and data analytics capability. Thanks to SkillsNow team, Inchcape is now ideally positioned to continue this pace as we continue to expand our position in key markets.”
Tony Lysak, founder of SkillsNow, comments: “We’re delighted to support Inchcape’s digital transformation plans in what has proven to be a pivotal time for the company. The success of the SkillsNow platform means Inchcape is now taking full advantage of the latest software. On top of this, the implementation of continuous professional development processes effectively future proofs the workforce by offering constant upskilling opportunities. With the early cohorts of new staff successfully embedded within the company, SkillsNow looks forward to continuing our work with Inchcape in the coming years.”
