London marketing agency takes on the Big Apple as it eyes international expansion

A London headquartered influencer marketing agency has opened a New York office as part of its plans to expand across North America.

SEEN Connects, founded in 2016, will open the new office in Brooklyn, as part of its commitment to new clients in the region including graphic design platform Canva, fashion brand Coach and toy producer, Ravensburger.

Founder and MD, Sedge Beswick will divide her time between the UK and US - with four staff working out of the Nassau Ave premises. Connects’ UK clients include eBay and Nike, while influencers include Jack Whitehall, Gok Wan and Frankie Bridge.

Last year saw the SEEN Connects’ team grow to 55, with 20 roles to be filled in early 2022 across influencer marketing, HR, IP and NFT.

Sedge Beswick said: “2021 was a brilliant year for the business, we have partnered with fantastic new clients and taken on ambitious colleagues who are embracing our entrepreneurial and exciting way of working. We are a people-led business and I genuinely believe that my people are the best in the market.

“The US will be the region that drives our international growth plans and to fully commit to clients and staff in the States, a presence in the US is vital. New York is a brilliant place to do business and we can’t wait to fully immerse ourselves in the opportunities the city has to offer.”

“In both the UK and US, recruitment is extremely competitive, I’ve interviewed more people in the last six months than I have in the last 6 years - and people are getting snapped up, fast.

“We have launched a new staff retention scheme, Connected Thinking, part of which is a learning and development programme, that includes training sessions with best-in-class thought leaders, which will level up the experience of our team.

“Influencer marketing should focus on authentic content and credibility, that’s never commoditised. Real people, with real experiences of brands and products, sharing real opinions.”
