The Style Attic Host Evening To Celebrate Inspirational Women With #ProudOfYouProject
Last month, Leeds based independent fashion retailer, The Style Attic, asked people from all across the country to nominate women that they’re proud of as part of their #proudofyouproject.
After countless messages and emails from people up and down the country sharing stories of women who inspire them, three incredible women were chosen.
These women were treated to an overnight stay at Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa, a pamper, styling session and photoshoot with The Style Attic before dinner and drinks at popular local restaurant, Gino’s Italian.
Founder Leigh Unwin said, “We wanted to shine a light on incredible women who have faced adversity over the last few years and deserve some time for themselves. We couldn’t have expected the amount of nominations we received and we read some stories of unbelievable strength and courage.”
The women who attended the event were all nominated by loved ones for various reasons. Kirsty Nicholson, aged 29, was one of these women.
In May 2021, Kirsty was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 28 years old. As a radiography student herself, Kirsty found the tables turning as she prepared herself to endure countless doctors appointments and consultations.
After a long stint of treatment including a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, Kirsty finally finished chemotherapy just before Christmas and was nominated for The Style Attics #proudofyouproject by a friend.
Kirsty said “Since going through Cancer treatment, my confidence has taken a hit and having the opportunity to be pampered and styled really gave me a boost and made me feel amazing. The Style Attic ladies were fabulous at helping me find things to suit my new shape and feel empowered.”
The female ran brand have long championed strong, independent women and spend their time on social media supporting and uplifting other women.
Leigh Unwin said of the event, “The ladies that we’ve met tonight have blown us away with their incredible stories. We are so grateful to be able to support these women, even in the smallest of ways and we feel honoured to have spent the evening celebrating them.”
With the success of this event The Style Attic hopes to inspire others to make the time to celebrate the people in their lives that inspire them and look forward to making this an annual event.
