The CareTech Foundation Help to Plant a Smile
The CareTech Foundation hopes to bring back the joy of playing in the garden to specialist Hextable based charity, We Are Beams, with a donation to their “Plant a Smile” appeal.
The donation of £1,702.00 will help towards funding a complete garden makeover at their respite unit, Dragon’s Retreat. The planned garden refurbishment would mean children who have previously been unable to play in the unsafe and outdated playground would be able to access play in any weather.
Maria Austen, Trust Fundraising Officer says: “Our current garden is well used and in desperate need of repair, the wheelchair swing has broken and parts of the garden are out of action. We can’t thank the CareTech Foundation enough for supporting us and bringing us closer to creating a space where the 450 children that we support, and their siblings, can have fun playing in an environment made just for them.”
CareTech Foundation CEO, Jonathan Freeman MBE, says: “Isn’t the option to play something every child should have? The Plant a Smile appeal was something we had no hesitation in supporting. To know with our help We Are Beams is one step closer to improving the mental and physical wellbeing of children with physical, learning or sensory impairment brings our Foundation one step closer to fulfilling our mission of improving communities and peoples’ lives.”
To help We Are Beams fulfill their dreams of creating a space where children can learn, socialise and develop life skill in a safe and fun environment, why not join in and make a donation here.
We are Beams provides comprehensive support services to families of children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment living in the Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.
