Space NK to upsize into new stellar Covent Garden home
The Mercers’ Company has today announced that Space NK, the go-to destination for worldwide beauty discovery, has selected 3 Neal Street to launch its new, significantly upsized, double level, Covent Garden store, opening this May.
The relocation from 32 Shelton Street is a short distance away to the larger 2,000 sq ft unit and will be the brand’s first ever space split across ground floor and basement. The brand-new store will offer a curated selection of over one hundred of the most in-demand, innovative and boundary-pushing beauty brands, including latest must haves such as Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, and Rose Inc from Rosie Huntington-Whitley. The additional basement space will greatly expand the retailer’s product offering, allowing consumers greater opportunity to discover a curated edit of the best of beauty.
Charlie Evans, Head of Retail at Space NK, commented: “We are delighted to be expanding our store in Covent Garden. As the location of our first store over 25 years ago, Covent Garden is an integral part of our history. The brand-new Neal Street space will be our first ever two floor store and we are looking forward to our customers visiting our expanded location and shopping a range of beauty products.”
Simon Taylor, Property Director at the Mercers’ Company, added: “Space NK has been a staple of both Covent Garden and the Mercers’ Company’s portfolio for many years and it is much loved by all who come to visit. The brand’s commitment in the area is testament to both the iconic status of Covent Garden, and our continued investment in our spaces. We are pleased to be working closely with Space NK and help them launch this new concept store in London’s West End later this Spring”
Space NK’s relocation will follow the news that that Diageo, maker of Guinness, plans to invest £73 million in ‘Guinness at Old Brewer’s Yard’, a new microbrewery and culture hub in Covent Garden, London, set to open in Autumn 2023.
