£10.6m Wakefield industrial unit sale to create 130 jobs
HBD has appointed Northcap on the sale of Unit One at Wakefield Hub; a purpose-built 65,000 sq ft unit with a guide figure of £10.6m.
Wakefield Hub is a 200-acre scheme being delivered by Newmarket Lane Ltd; a joint venture partnership between HBD and Yorkcourt. One of the largest regeneration projects of its kind in the North of England, it is set to drive inward investment and create thousands of new jobs.
Completed in Q1 2022, Unit One is now home to Kitwave, which continues to expand its operations throughout the UK and is set to create 130 jobs from its new base. Ben Hall, Partner at Northcap, will act as Investment Agent on the sale.
Simon Ross, senior development surveyor at HBD, commented: “We have seen record-breaking industrial take-up across Yorkshire and the North East in recent years, with rising demand creating a shortage of premium quality industrial stock, particularly in key, strategic locations like Wakefield.
“Unit One is a high-spec Grade A unit with strong covenants, making this an excellent investment prospect.”
Development has continued to progress quickly at Wakefield Hub, with work to soon begin on a new 260, 000 sq ft unit following a forward-funding deal with Aberdeen Standard.
