Housebuilder supports children in Driffield with £1,000 donation to Friends of Driffield C of E Infant School

Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, continues to support the communities in which it builds, by donating £1,000 as part of its Community Fund scheme to the Friends of Driffield C of E Infant School, a committee that works hard to organise events to raise funds to enhance the children’s learning experiences.

The committee at Driffield C of E Infant School, located close to the housebuilder’s Mortimer Park site in Driffield, organises various events to help raise vital funds for the school. The money raised from previous events has helped to provide new outdoor play equipment, puppets and puppet theatres, and the refurbishment of the school library.

The donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire East will go towards improving and enriching the outdoor space and outdoor learning resources at the school, in line with the various Forest School activities that the school offers on the curriculum including hands-on experiences in a natural environment with trees to help individuals develop their confidence and develop their skills in the outdoors.

The Community Fund initiative, which aims to support communities in the local areas, sees Barratt Developments Yorkshire East donate £1,000 to a different community group or charity from the region every month.

Holly Robinson, Chair of the Friends of Driffield C of E Infant School group, said: “We are over the moon with Barratt Developments Yorkshire East’s generous donation. We want to ensure that the children at Driffield C of E Infant School have the best education possible with new learning tools and equipment, days out and fun activities too. We’re grateful for the donation, and will put this to use towards the children’s outdoor learning and Forest School.”

Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, added: “The Friends Committee at Driffield C of E Infant School does an amazing job at raising funds to enhance children’s learning experiences. As a housebuilder, we want to continue helping charities and organisations in the communities in which we build by saying thank you for all of their hard work and devotion to helping others.”
