Edinburgh Gin take title sponsorship of The Garden and five new Mediterranean style cabanas at Chester Racecourse
As Chester basked in sunshine and rising temperatures over the weekend – hotter than the Mediterranean at times – Chester Racecourse has announced a very special addition for this year’s racing calendar.
The racecourse has teamed up with Edinburgh Gin to build five Mediterranean style cabanas and provide an impressive boost to the £1M Edinburgh Gin Garden.
With just over a month to go to the famous Boodles May Festival at The Roodee, the Edinburgh Gin cabanas are now ready to welcome their first guests. Located in the Edinburgh Gin Garden, previously the Champagne Garden, each cabana can seat up to 16 and offers cover, a private terrace, table service, TV screen, entertainment and even an Edinburgh Gin welcome drink.
The new Edinburgh Gin Garden will offer racegoers the opportunity to explore the wonder of Edinburgh Gin, whilst enjoying spectacular views of the famous racecourse. Surrounded by botanical installations, guests can enjoy a vibrant menu of Edinburgh Gin serves including its much loved rhubarb and ginger gin and tonic, its sparkling raspberry gin fizz and its beautiful range of classic gins – bringing a taste of the Scottish capital to the iconic Chester Racecourse.
Louise Stewart, Chief Executive Officer at Chester Race Company Ltd., said: “The cabanas are a fantastic new addition to the racecourse and we are expecting them to be really popular.
“We are thrilled to partner with Edinburgh Gin on this enclosure and to bring their national brand to Chester Racecourse. Their unique offering will really enhance this area and is a welcome addition to the racecourse.
“We are delighted to be able to launch the new cabanas and improved Edinburgh Gin Garden in time for the famous Boodles May Festival and feel it is quite timely with the fantastic weather which we have been experiencing. They certainly really add to the atmosphere here in Chester too!
“And they are in fact perfect – whatever the British weather may throw at us – offering shelter and protection from the sun – or keeping race-goers dry should there be a spot of rain.
“We are delighted to be back to full capacity racing in 2022! It really is shaping up to being a memorable season to remember.”
Suzanna Connolly, Head of Sales at Edinburgh Gin added: “Edinburgh Gin is thrilled to be partnering with Chester Racecourse on the Edinburgh Gin Garden and new cabanas. We are looking forward to growing on the success of the enclosure from last year and incorporating our unique brand and styling to the area.
“Located next to the Parade Ring, in the heart of the action, the cabanas will provide guests with an extra special day and we are looking forward to working with Chester Racecourse to deliver a successful racing season.
“We have increased our involvement with racecourses this year through this sponsorship with Chester and as the official gin provider for Musselburgh Racecourse, both part of the Chester Race Company group.”
The Boodles May Festival is expected to attract around 50,000 people over the three-day meeting from 4th – 6th May.
