This week’s round up of North East appointments includes Bonded Agency, Avison Young and Hodgson Sayers. Read on to find out more.

Siobhan Byrne, Bonded Agency

Bonded has appointed Siobhan Byrne to their Senior Management Team, as the digital and media agency expands into owned media.

Siobhan joins from global network agency Dentsu, bringing over a decade of agency and product experience to the fast growing Bonded business.

Commenting on the appointment, Steve Underwood said: “I’m so pleased to welcome Siobhan to the Bonded Senior Management Team. Siobhan is a great leader, technically strong and a great communicator.

“It’s brilliant to appoint a senior director, who is at the cutting edge of industry innovation and shares our values of human connection. I’m looking forward to working together; to build an industry leading owned media offering.”

The appointment comes as Bonded builds on its paid search, paid social and ATL media offering by expanding into organic search. Siobhan will be responsible for developing the organic search and content proposition from Bonded’s office in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Chris Turnbull, Avison Young

Gordon Hewling, Avison Young, principal and managing director of the firm’s Newcastle office, has announced that Chris Turnbull has been named Avison Young principal based in the firm’s Newcastle office.

Chris has been with the company for three years and specialises in project management across various sectors including commercial offices and hotels. Chris is currently delivering Pilgrim Street, one of the most significant regeneration projects in the North East, with over 1m sq ft of development across three city centre blocks.

Gordon Hewling said: “Since joining Avison Young, Chris has continued to demonstrate the qualities that first attracted us to him. His technical ability is a given, with an understanding of how to manage complex projects and run diverse teams.

“More importantly, he has excellent client care and business development skills which, allied with a commercial approach, have enabled him to develop existing clients and attract new clients to the business.”

Chris added:“ I am delighted with the promotion, which is testament to the progress achieved at Pilgrim Street and upon other projects UK wide. I am excited to be involved at Pilgrim Street, one of the largest projects in the North East. I look forward to the many challenges which will arise as the many phases of the regeneration project move forward to fruition.“

County Durham-based Hodgson Sayers, has made a raft of new appointments across the business.

Diane Pagram, Philip Alison and Gary Bottomley join as contract managers, Audrey Gowland has been appointed as contract co-ordinator/administrator, Jennifer Graham joins as purchase ledger clerk and Sarah Callun and Lynn Nevins as administrators.

Contract manager, Gary Bottomley, has returned back to the North East having worked at Avonside Roofing in Yorkshire. He said: “Having lived in the Midlands and Yorkshire for a number of years, I wanted to move back to the region and Hodgson Sayers has proved the perfect fit.

“The company has a family feel to it, everyone is welcoming and there is immediate assistance if you need advice or support. I am currently working on a number of projects, including one in Nottingham with Nottingham City Homes and also repair and maintenance work to an old police station in Northallerton.

“The opportunity to work at Hodgson Sayers was too good to miss, as was the chance to move back to the region.

John Sayers, managing director at Hodgson Sayers, added: “We welcome our new colleagues, each brings a special skill set to their individual roles. In Gary’s case, we are pleased to bring North East talent back to the region as we build a strong team that offers great experience, problem-solving and customer focus.”
