“Thriving” Manchester development to create 20 jobs as four new retail and food tenants announced

Vita Group has signed deals to bring four new tenants to Circle Square. The joint venture between Vita Group and Bruntwood SciTech has seen the former BBC site completely transformed into a “thriving” mixed-use community.

Now the quickly populating, Manchester city centre development on Oxford Road is starting to welcome its first retail and leisure providers. The new tenants include Japanese tea and dessert café, Tsujiri, Manchester’s newest chicken restaurant, Bird of Prey, Asian food and skincare store, Momo Cosmetics, and traditional bubble tea shop, Uncle T.

Tsujiri will be opening its second Manchester site taking a 1,302 sq ft space underneath the Vita Living North tower. Customers will get an enhanced offering as this Tsujiri will also include a traditional Japanese sake bar, Monkey Trio offering a range of Japanese sakes, whiskies and matcha beers.

Bird of Prey, also opening underneath Vita Living North which faces Charles Street, is taking a 1,270 sq ft space. A new concept created by The Restaurant Guys, Bird of Prey will be bringing a range of chicken-based dishes made with its special dredging and frying process, as well as specialty shakes and homemade sauces.

Momo Cosmetics will be located underneath Vita Living East in a 626 sq ft space. The new retailer is due to bring a wide range of popular Japanese and Korean skin care products and food, due to open in May 2022.

Finally, Uncle T, will be bringing a menu of traditional bubble tea with a “Manchester-twist”. Like Momo Cosmetics it will also reside under Vita Living East in a smaller unit, taking 322 sq ft.

The four tenants are expected to create a further 20 jobs in the area once they are open, complementing Circle Square’s ever-expanding retail and leisure mix. Acting agent for Vita Group’s retail and leisure offering is Lyons Thompson Letts Property Consultants.

Chief operating officer of Vita Group, Max Bielby said: “Circle Square is quickly becoming a thriving destination in the heart of Manchester with amazing places to live, work and eat. Our latest tenant signings are testament to this fantastic community which is going from strength-to-strength.

“We look forward to Bird of Prey, Tsuiri and Momo joining the other great retail and leisure Circle Square has to offer with the likes of Trib3, One Home supermarket and Hello Oriental already experiencing great trade.”
