Former school site makes way for local housing
Anwyl Partnerships, specialists in the provision of residential land and build developments, has acquired the former Focus School site off Didsbury Road in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, with plans to redevelop the site to create 82 homes.
The former Focus school which was privately owned and operated relocated to new premises outside of the borough in 2019 and the site has since remained unused and unoccupied.
Sam Oliver, Land Director at Anwyl Partnerships commented: “The Focus school site represents an exceptional acquisition for Anwyl and is a continuation of our activities and investment in Stockport and the wider Greater Manchester region.
“The former proposals which obtained planning consent more than two years ago will need to be reconsidered to ensure we create a viable scheme that can unlock the site, delivering much needed housing in Stockport through our flexible mixed tenure approach.
“Our draft proposals for the site are now beginning to take shape and look really exciting. We will soon begin a consultation process with local residents seeking their views ahead of the submission of a full planning application.”
Anwyl Partnerships has also submitted plans for 66 apartments off Ladybridge Road, Cheadle Hulme and is expecting a decision in the summer.
