£12m residential development in North Yorkshire village proves "home-grown" sales success story for two Harrogate district businesses

A £12m residential development in a picturesque North Yorkshire village has proved a home-grown sales success story for two Harrogate district businesses.

Wharfedale Homes linked up with the land and new homes team at estate agents Linley & Simpson to launch to market its Holber Hill development at Burton Leonard, between Harrogate and Ripon.

Just over a year since the Knaresborough-based developers broke ground at the site, no fewer than 28 of the 30 homes being built have already been sold.

According to David Waddington, director of the Harrogate-based Land and New Homes team at Linley & Simpson, this is yet another signal of homebuyers’ growing appetite for new build. It also reflected a growing post-COVID trend for rural living.

“Wharfedale Homes has transformed a former haulage site into a high-quality, high-spec collection of designer new homes that has certainly fired up the imagination of homebuyers,” said David.

“One of the appealing hallmarks of the development, surrounded by open countryside, has been its unrivalled choice – it features detached, semi-detached, apartments and town houses.”

Wharfedale Homes, which has extended its support for the local community by sponsoring next month’s Burton Leonard 10k run, has worked with Linley & Simpson on a number of its recent developments but this represents the biggest scheme on which the businesses have worked together.
