Waterside Shipley Host Unique Gin Tasting Evening

Shipley’s hidden gem, The Waterside Bar & Bistro, will be hosting a special Gin Tasting evening on Wednesday the 25th of May.

The evening, which is in partnership with premium drinks company, Franklin & Sons and Rock Rose Gin, will see those who attend treated to a five course tasting menu paired with perfect serves for £50 per head.

Housed in a 150 year old canalside warehouse overlooking the Leeds Liverpool Canal, Waterside is the perfect spot to visit next week as temperatures are set to continue to soar.

Head Chef, and co-founder of Waterside bistro, Paul Huddleston, boasts time working at some of the most prestigious restaurants across Europe including the Criterion London with Marco Pierre White, Le Jules Verne, Paris with Alain Ducasse and even a secondment at the three Michelin Star Le Louis XV in Monaco.

On this upcoming event, Paul said, “We’ve wanted to do something like this for a while now, and when the opportunity arose to work with Franklin & Sons and Rock Rose Gin, brands we’ve long enjoyed, we jumped at it! As an independent restaurant, It’s great to be able to work with other successful businesses to bring something different to our local area.”

On Wednesday, guests will sample a selection of Paul’s unique dishes such as Gin Cured Sea Trout, and Venison with Bitter Chocolate Sauce, as well as Dunnet Bay Distillers’ most popular spirits including their Rock Rose Citrus Gin.

On his carefully created menu, Paul said, “We wanted to offer a premium experience to our customers. I’ve called upon my experience working at Michelin Star establishments to put together a menu that really showcases who I am, as well as the wonderful offerings of Franklin & Sons and Rock Rose Gin. Every course pairs perfectly with a specific spirit and we can’t wait to see what our customers think!”

Speaking on their collaboration with Waterside, Adam Findlay, Regional Account Manager for Franklin & Sons and Rock Rose said “I have worked with Paul and Ian at the Waterside for many years now and value their passion towards high quality ingredients and products. I believe our brand aligns perfectly with their ethos and as such, we are pleased to be working with this fantastic business and restaurant to showcase the Franklin & Sons and Rock Rose brands”

After the success of Watersides’ last event, which was in partnership with Nyetimber wines, Wednesday’s gin tasting is sure to be a sellout.
