Angel Central champions East Asian brands with the ‘East in Angel’ festival

CBRE Investment Management celebrated Angel Central, Islington’s leading retail and leisure destination, debut ‘East in Angel’ festival.

Taking place from 19th – 22nd May, festival highlights included an array of East Asian themed lifestyle, beauty and F&B offers at the destination, including an exclusive TONIC15 K-Beauty pop-up. A community market and fresh Japanese and Korean food sampling, as well as origami crafting sessions and lantern making, were also enjoyed by Angel Central’s visitors.

Central to the festival was TONIC15, the home of Korean beauty, which coordinated a ‘Spring in Seoul’ pop-up in partnership with Be-oom, the first Korean Tea House in London. The spring-themed, floral inspired store hosted 10 K-beauty brands, such as COSRX, Klairs, Dr Ceuracle, as well as exclusive pre-released brands, AMUSE and One Thing. Make-up classes and sessions were available alongside some of Korea’s best beauty buys.

Jin Kwon, Founder of TONIC15, said: “Angel Central provided the perfect space in central London for us to showcase our incredible array of K-beauty products. Korean Beauty has captured worldwide attention recently, becoming one of the most popular beauty movements in Europe. We are excited to have collaborated with the Angel Central team on this unique event, and to be able to welcome the Islington community and beyond to celebrate different cultures authentically.”

Ciara Daffy, Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, commented on the event at Angel Central: “Community is at the very heart of our placemaking strategy. East in Angel was an incredibly dynamic event that celebrated the diversity and difference within our scheme, reaching all age groups and visitors. With the likes of Muji, UNIQLO, Wagamama, and our newest restaurant, Pelicana, all taking part in the event, we are proud to have celebrated these East Asian brands whilst highlighting our revitalised destination which commends difference and opportunity.”

This announcement follows the latest news that the enhanced and new look Angel Central has been awarded Fitwel’s Highest Scoring Project Award under the Retail Building v2.1 Design Certification category.
