Leeds based vehicle leasing company launches colleague-led diversity and inclusion groups
Leading vehicle leasing company, Zenith, has launched a colleague-led focus group programme, helping to champion diversity and inclusion throughout its 1,200-strong workforce.
Complementing its ESG strategy, Leeds based Zenith has introduced six diversity and inclusion focus groups to affect change throughout the company and create a “more inclusive working environment”, while seeking to more closely represent the customers and communities it serves across all levels.
The six groups cover ethnicity and religion, gender, age, disability, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+.
The six focus groups are made up of more than 50 volunteering Zenith colleagues, and each include a colleague chair, a board sponsor, and a partner from the company’s internal people team.
The teams were recruited by each group chair, who themselves were selected after being invited to an informal interview to discuss why being part of the programme was important to them and what they hoped to achieve in the role. They were then selected based on their passion and knowledge in the chosen focus area.
Each group will propose and implement activity to improve representation in their focus area, raise awareness, build strategic partnerships with external organisations, and suggest new ways of working that will ultimately make the company more inclusive and representative of Zenith’s communities.
Stuart Price, chief people officer at Zenith, commented: “We’re always working to improve diversity and inclusion at Zenith, and we all saw great value in introducing focus groups, which gives our people the chance to have their voices and views heard and importantly shape the culture of our future business.
“We want to create a culture of conscious inclusion and working with the focus groups, along with the many other plans we have in flight, will help us to better understand, attract, support and develop colleagues from under-represented groups, and I know they’re going to make a positive and lasting change across Zenith.”
