Dorset housebuilder ‘hits a six’ with £40,000 cricket club sponsorship
A Dorset housebuilder has shown remarkable support for Swanage Cricket Club with a £40,000 sponsorship package.
Barratt Homes, which is building at Compass Point in the coastal town, has donated to the local sporting club – highlighting the leading housebuilder’s commitment to the communities in which it is building.
The impressive donation will go towards marketing for the club as well as an extension to the club’s pavilion. Fencing, training nets and Barratt branded cricket covers have also been bought with the donated funds.
Tim Ives, the Club’s Treasurer and Youth Development Officer, said: “As we head into an exciting summer of cricket, all the team at Swanage Cricket Club are extremely grateful for Barratt Homes’ support. The incredible donation will mean we can provide some all-important updates to the club’s grounds.
“The branded cricket covers will be used on our second pitch. This is home to our Third teams – a team based around juniors making the transition into adult cricket, as well as our Women’s team. The covers have already saved a game from being rained off so are already proving to be a great investment.”
Julian Jones, Development Director for Barratt Homes Southampton division, said: “We always want to offer our help to organisations in the communities where we are building new homes, and we are thrilled to be able to offer this sponsorship package to Swanage Cricket Club.
“We hope our support will give them a positive boost as they get settled into a new season of cricket.”
Swanage Cricket Club offers cricket to anyone from 6 and upwards – boys and girls, league, and friendly cricket.
Barratt Homes is bringing new homes across Dorset, including at Compass Point in Swanage.
