Harrogate based creative commercial interior designer ‘moves in’ on residential property sector

As part of Bdaily’s latest feature week, The Property Market, we look to Harrogate, where a business specialising in commercial interior designs has moved into the residential property sector.

The House Collective, which is based in Harrogate’s Windsor House, has already completed a hat-trick of projects and is starting on its most ambitious commission to date, a 17-room home in Roundhay, Leeds.

The new venture is headed by Rob Umpleby, founder of commercial interior design agency RU Creative, whose trademark of designing workspaces with a “residential feel”, has seen it working on numerous schemes throughout the UK.

It was an RU Creative client’s fruitless search for an interior designer for his new home that led him to ask Rob and his team to work their magic in a residential rather than commercial setting.

Rob says The House Collective differs from “traditional’’ interior designers as its creations are inspired by a blend of Scandinavian, Italian, British and even Ukrainian interior design, as this is “definitely one of the developing scenes to watch”.

But the firm’s trump card is its 3D visualisation service, where it creates photorealistic images and VR (Virtual reality software) which show exactly how the finished scheme will look, right down to the exact fixtures and fittings that will be used.

Rob commented: “We are really excited to have launched The House Collective, and whilst it is a brand-new business, we bring with us a long and successful history within the world of commercial interior design.

“Over the years we have worked on some amazing refurbishment schemes, and our skills in creating workspaces with a residential feel has given us the confidence to break into the residential property world.

He added: “Our 3D visuals and VR, allow clients to stand in a room and see for themselves exactly how the finished scheme will look. And if they don’t like any elements then we are able to change it before work starts.

“We have already completed projects across the Yorkshire region, and are now embarking on our biggest one to date in Leeds. This is a really exciting commission for The House Collective, and will see us further stamping our unique marque in the residential property interior design sector.”
