Chichester site managers recognised as best in the country

Site managers at the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes developments in Chichester have won top national awards for the quality of the homes they are building.

Jason Plummer, who works at Barratt Homes Madgwick Park in Westhampnett, and Matt Annalls, who is site manager on the David Wilson Homes side of the same development, have both won a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC). These prestigious awards are known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”.

This is the 18th year in a row that site managers from Barratt have won more of these awards than any other builder, underlining its long-term commitment to building high quality homes.

The awards showcase the best site managers in the country who can demonstrate exceptional standards in building new communities, delivering the highest quality homes for their customers. Each site manager is judged on a range of key criteria including health and safety, their technical knowledge, customer service and attention to detail.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants.

The awards help to build quality standards across developments and teams, with winning site managers invariably having an assistant site manager working with them. They in turn learn the high standards that are needed to win, which increases quality throughout the industry.

Jon Green, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes, Southampton Division, said: “We want to make our customers happy by building high quality homes for them. These awards recognise only the best new homes and well-run sites, and we are very proud of our record of having won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 18 years in a row. Every customer who buys a home built by a site manager who has won a Pride in the Job Quality award can have confidence that their home is of the highest possible quality.”

And both Jason and Matt are thrilled to have been recognised with their awards and say it’s all about putting the customer first.

Jason said: “We are building high-quality properties here in Chichester, and our incentive is always the customer – we want to ensure they get the top-rated home they are looking for.”

Matt added: “We’re delighted to have won these awards on behalf of all the team here at Madgwick Park.”

There awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded 5 stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated 5 star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt being the only major national housebuilder to be rated 5 star for 13 years in a row.
