Sunday Times 100: Manchester’s Pets Purest named Manchester’s fastest growing and UK’s 16th top company overall
A Manchester-based pet supplements retailer, Pets Purest has been named one of Britain’s fastest growing companies in the inaugural Sunday Times 100 rankings. The company was started by husband-and-wife team Oliver and Evie Bristowe, both 30, with just £600 in 2017 when Evie’s family dogs were suffering from dry skin.
Sales of Pets Purest’s chemical-free treatments and all-natural dog and cat treats rose to £6.3 million last year, and have climbed 130.15% over three years. At the end of 2021 the new Wilmslow-based venture capital fund Fearless Adventures from David Newns and Dominic McGregor, paid a “six figure sum” for a minority stake. Oliver, who met Evie at primary school, has said his goal is to make the company the “most trusted natural pet care brand on the planet”.
Jim Armitage, business editor of The Sunday Times said: “The Sunday Times 100 is our new-look annual celebration of the UK’s entrepreneurial achievements. The founders of these exciting businesses are vital job creators and innovators. The top 100 have performed exceptionally during the pandemic and show how some companies used the change to consumer and work habits to their advantage.” The research for the Sunday Times 100 was done in partnership with Beauhurst.
