Nant sprint to the finish line for Dementia UK

Fresh from their 100k dog walking challenge, leading water safety specialists Nant Ltd have raised a further £1,165 by completing the Birmingham Black Country half marathon for their charity of the year, Dementia UK.

Nant Managing Director Carl Baker, Technical Director Richard Deakin, Operations Director Jamie Green, Plumbing Services Supervisor Chris Worthington, and his cousin Stephen Scanlon laced up their running shoes and completed the 13- mile race on July 2nd.

The Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon is a unique point to point race along the canal towpaths between Wolverhampton City Centre and Brindley Place in Birmingham.

The route includes the famous 360 metre ‘Coseley Tunnel’ floating drink stations along the canal and ends in the heart of Brindley Place, Birmingham.

Earlier in the year the Nant team together with their dogs completed the 100k March dog walking challenge to raise funds for Dementia UK.

Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nurse charity, providing life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia.

Managing Director Carl Baker said: “We have now raised almost £1,500 for Dementia UK this year, more than three quarters of the way to our target of £2,000. We have supported Dementia UK and related good causes for a number of years now. It’s an illness that has not only affected colleagues personally but through our work in care homes across the country too.

“Our fundraising efforts continue in September when Technical Director Richard Deakin and his wife will be taking part in a tandem skydive for Dementia UK. Their aim is to raise at least £800.”

Established in 1994 to provide top quality service in Legionella control, Nant Ltd is a specialist provider of water safety services and products. With clients across the UK, Nant provide innovative systems to ensure water supplies are as safe and secure as possible.
