Red Loft launches first phase of homes in Walthamstow

Since being named as one of The Sunday Times’s best places to live in 2021, Walthamstow’s property market is on a continued upward trajectory, with the average price for a home now listed at £536,348, a 14 per cent rise since its last peak in 2017.

Property consultancy and first-time buyer agent Red Loft has launched the first release of 10 private sale homes at the Jazz Yard, a brand-new development in the heart of E17.

Named after the ‘Jazz Service’ steam train that ran from Liverpool Street to Chingford in the 1920s, the Jazz Yard will ultimately consist of 83 one and two-bedroom homes, a mixed tenure community of 46 private sale apartments alongside 17 for Shared Ownership and 20 social rent homes.

Architecturally eye catching, the elegant red façade is a mixture of textured, glazed and coloured bricks, reflecting the area’s industrial history. New residents will benefit from a brand-new communal podium roof garden, complete with play zones, relaxation areas and landscape gardening as well as an NHS Health Centre on the ground and first floors.

Wendy Hegarty, partner at Red Loft, comments: “We are delighted to support Sixty Bricks with their launch of a brand-new development nestled in the popular neighbourhood of Walthamstow, where property prices have risen considerably over recent years.”

Sixty Bricks chief executive James Briggs comments, “Sixty Bricks is proud to develop the Jazz Yard scheme which supports the Council’s priorities to invest in new, high quality health facilities and social rent homes for the local community.”
