This week’s Yorkshire appointments

This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Lupton Fawcett LLP, Ward Hadaway and Axiologik. Read on to find out more.

Jeremy Scott, Lupton Fawcett LLP

Yorkshire law firm Lupton Fawcett LLP has appointed leading regulatory and corporate defence lawyer Jeremy Scott to head its office in York.

Jeremy (pictured right) joined Lupton Fawcett as head of regulatory and corporate defence in 2013. For over 30 years he has represented regional, national and international businesses and their directors advising upon regulatory investigations and high-profile criminal prosecutions.

As head of the York office he will have responsibility for leading the firm’s business development activity in and around the city, attracting new clients and building partnerships with other professional services firms. He said: “I am delighted to take on this role and to lead the further growth of the business in York.

“I believe the way we do law at Lupton Fawcett is the right way – putting clients’ interests first, always striving to get the right result for them, whether it’s a private client purchasing a house or preparing a will, or a business facing investigation by a regulatory body.

“I am looking forward to helping to make Lupton Fawcett the first port of call when clients in the region or further afield have a legal problem, and the first legal firm other business advisors recommend to their own clients.”

Lupton Fawcett managing partner James Richardson (pictured left) said: “Jeremy has huge energy and enthusiasm for delivering the best results for clients and a strong commitment to supporting and motivating colleagues. I’m looking forward to working more closely with him as we drive our continued growth in York and beyond.”

Vivienne Wild, Ward Hadaway

Vivienne Wild joins Ward Hadaway as a partner in its Leeds office, providing specialist advice and support with complex and high value estate and succession planning matters, including wills, trusts, inheritance tax and powers of attorney and often with cross-border elements.

Vivienne is a “leading individual” in Legal 500 and ranked Band 1 in Chambers High Net Worth Guide and by Spears 500 as a Recommended Tax lawyer. Before joining Ward Hadaway, she was a partner and head of the private wealth team at Clarion, a position she held for nearly seven years.

With over two decades of experience as a solicitor in this highly technical area of law, Vivienne brings with her a wealth of knowledge that will drive forward the law firm’s work with high net worth individuals, who are often business owners or entrepreneurs.

Andrew Facer, a partner and head of the private client team at the firm, said: “Vivienne has a lot of experience and knowledge in managing complex estate planning, trust and taxation matters and her technical acumen is second to none. Alongside these exemplary skills.”

Vivienne Wild said: “I’m delighted to be part of a very talented and established team which is growing well. Ward Hadaway has a unique set of characteristics, in that we provide quality legal support, delivered by brilliant professionals, plugged into our regional communities.”

Jack Taylor, Axiologik

Digital delivery consultancy Axiologik has appointed Jack Taylor as head of talent to spearhead recruitment as the company enters its next phase of growth.

As part of his new role, Taylor is tasked with sourcing experienced talent and will focus on expanding the team in technical leadership specialisms including roles within Architecture, Product Management and Delivery Management. In addition, Taylor is also responsible for supporting the development and maturity of company value and culture.

Taylor joins Axiologik with a wealth of experience, which includes a long and successful tenure at Leeds based consultancy Aire Logic where, where in just four years, he supported the growth of the company from 10-15 staff to 200 full time staff and around 200 contractors.

Taylor said: “I was really interested in the vision of Axiologik and this is something I want to continue projecting as I support new team growth. I’m excited about the opportunity ahead. Often, as companies scale up it can be difficult to maintain the culture that makes them so unique, so I want to ensure that this remains a core focus for me.

“I’m confident that my new position at Axiologik will allow me to expand my experience and that I will emulate my previous success.”
