Care Home Appeals for Volunteers.
Nottingham care home Melbourne House is launching an appeal for volunteers to its local community of Aspley and surrounding areas.
Manager Alicja Szefler is looking for members of the community to volunteer their time by becoming care home friends to spend time with the people that have made Melbourne House their home.
The Care Home is looking for ad-hoc support in the form of companionship, sharing conversation, having a cuppa together, taking an interest in individual lives and memories, or just sitting and holding someones hand.
Alicja Szefler Manager at Melbourne House Care Home says: “We are really eager to invite volunteers. Prior to the pandemic we were lucky enough to welcome volunteers into our home, and now we are ready to welcome them once again. For our residents it is always nice to see new faces, have new conversations and feel like other people are taking an interest in them. This is why we are appealing for volunteers, it would be a massive boost for us but more important is the sense of wellbeing it will bring to the people we care for.”
