Newly refurbished office in Newcastle’s Cobalt Park ready to support 500 jobs

A prominent office building at the entrance to the UK’s largest business park is ready to support at least 500 jobs following the completion of the first round of refurbishment works.

The owners of CobaltOne, at Newcastle’s Cobalt Business Park, have invested to update the reception area and create a show-floor on the third level, which “demonstrates the potential” of the 45,000 sq ft property. They have also pledged to support tenants to create a space “bespoke to their business needs” as works continue.

Property consultancy Naylors Gavin Black, which is marketing the building, is receiving interest from organisations looking to locate at Cobalt to take advantage of the conveniences the 250-acre business park has to offer for its employees.

Cobalt is home to some major businesses, including Accenture and Sage, as well as offering amenities that are important to the “modern worker”, including car parking, gyms, diverse food options and relaxing outdoor space, which includes a 39-acre bio-diversity park and miles of bicycle tracks.

Chris Pearson, partner at Naylors Gavin Black, commented: “This is a very exciting offering that has the potential to attract many hundreds of good quality jobs to the Newcastle area.

“The labour market is as tight as ever and employer location is now one of the things that receives more emphasis by potential employees, who can be more selective about where they work. Workers want modern offices with good transport connections, and more leisure and food options nearby.

“Workplace culture has shifted to place more of a focus on wellbeing and work/life balance, and this is reflected in our tenant and client demands. CobaltOne is absolutely on trend and has much to offer businesses looking to differentiate themselves in the competitive labour market.

“It is important that as a business we evolve and work with clients to provide office space suitable for today’s workforce.”
