The Wigley Group appoints new non-executive director
A Midlands real estate firm has appointed a leading regional communications specialist to its board of directors.
Adam Dent, the founder of Coventry-based Advent Communications, has joined the board of The Wigley Group as a Non-Executive Director, which is headquartered in Southam in Warwickshire.
The company specialises in the industrial sector with a significant portfolio of property and landholdings, and associated businesses in land and development, and construction. Dent has handled the company’s PR for more than a decade, and Advent Communications is its retained communications provider.
He oversaw the sale of Advent to national award-winning agency PLMR, which has offices in London, Ipswich, Birmingham and Glasgow, late last year and works for the group as a consultant.
James Davies, CEO of the Wigley group, said: “Adam has worked with the Wigley team for many years and we know him very well.
“Not only does he have considerable experience in communication and reputation management, but he also successfully started and built a business.
“He is very well connected locally and regionally at company and stakeholder level and we believe that will be of great benefit to The Wigley Group. We are very pleased to have him on board.”
The Wigley Group was established in 1964 and directly employs around 40 people at its headquarters in Stockton in the Stratford-upon-Avon District of Warwickshire.
The firm’s continued growth has seen it more than double its commercial land and industrial estates in just five years, now possessing more than 140 acres of land in its portfolio and 700,000 sq ft of rentable space.
This year has also seen work begin on a £1.5 million expansion of their headquarters Stockton House, while they were recently announced as RICS Awards winners in the West Midlands for their work transforming the historically important Daimler Powerhouse into a creative hub for the region.
Dent said: “I have worked with The Wigley Group for more than a decade and seen it develop significantly under the leadership of Rob Wigley, James Davies and their team. “It is a very well-respected company with a diverse offering and a very good portfolio. “I am honoured they have approached me for this new role and hopefully I can bring a new perspective to the board and be able to make use of my knowledge of the regional business scene.”
