New director appointed to drive forward Barratt Southampton’s ambitious vision for the future
Barratt Developments has appointed James Dunne as its new divisional managing director for the company’s Southampton division, replacing Jon Green who is leaving after more than 25 years in the business.
James will be responsible for Barratt’s operations in the Hampshire, Dorset, and West Sussex region, where the company operates under the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands.
James re-joined Barratt Developments in July 2020 and has been heading up the South West region as Managing Director. Before that, he worked for Vistry Group which he joined in 2017 following 10 years of previous experience with Barratt in various director-level roles.
Barratt Developments in the Southampton region has its headquarters in Hedge End, Southampton. The housebuilder is building at a number of developments across Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex, all delivering much-needed new homes.
Now settling into his new role as Managing Director, James Dunne has high hopes for the future of both brands across the business and will be driving forward with a new vision for the company that will maintain Barratt’s strong market share, despite uncertainty in the wider economic environment.
James said: “Barratt is in a resilient position as a result of the strength of our operations. My aim will be to maintain and increase our lead over the rest of the industry in quality, service and sustainability while driving our efficiency and profit margin.
“I will aim to replicate the great success brought to the business by Jon and look forward to playing a key role in shaping the development of new homes in the region.”
Outgoing Managing Director, Jon Green, who will be entering into retirement, added: “James has a wealth of experience in the industry and long-standing knowledge of the business and I am confident he will maintain and build a strong and stable future for BDW Southampton.”
