Newcastle property specialist reports record turnover alongside recruitment drive

North East based property specialist George F. White has announced a record-breaking turnover this year, rising by 12 per cent on the previous year.

The milestone figure is the highest turnover in the company’s 43-year history, off the back of growth across all service areas, in particular the rural business and residential property markets which have been strong coming out of the pandemic.

Continued growth is top of the agenda for newly appointed managing director Sally Hart and the team who are full of ambition, aiming to almost double this year’s growth by the end of their next financial year. A new Hexham office has recently opened to meet demand and take advantage of opportunities in the area.

Further growth will see the expansion of their footprint across the commercial property market, with the team now “one of the largest in the North East” following a merger with Johnson Tucker LLP earlier this year.

A recruitment drive is already underway to support the growth strategy by welcoming more specialists into the consultancy, with plans to increase the team by at least 15 per cent over the next 12 months.

Roles to be recruited include a senior / associate development surveyor, senior farm business consultant, rural practice surveyors and an associate planning consultant, based between the company’s head office in Newcastle and six other offices across the region.

Opportunities for the team are also a focus, most recently seeing James Cullen promoted to Partner for his continued commitment to growing George F. White’s commercial property offering.

Sally Hart, managing director at George F. White, said: “The property industry has evolved at a rapid pace over the last couple of years and we’ve taken advantage of the opportunities to grow our portfolio. Building on this momentum is essential to our growth strategy, supporting more businesses and creating local jobs to expand our team.

“Our recent merger with Johnson Tucker LLP was a bold move which we want to capitalise on, as the commercial property market has a resurgence post-pandemic and beyond.

“Such considerable growth isn’t possible without a strong team with shared values which I’m proud to say we have, and our success belongs to each individual playing their key part.”
