London startup aims to become “Airbnb for remote work” via targeted £250k funding
Young London based startup Flexy is making its move to enter the market and “revolutionise the world of remote work” with plans to raise £250k of investment.
Founded by a group of young entrepreneurs, Flexy Workspace is a startup that connects freelancers with homeowners who seek to monetise their free space. By implementing an existing business model, Flexy aims to become the next “Airbnb for remote work”.
With help from this solution, freelancers will be able to find a “comfortable” place to work within a 15-minute walk of their current location, while homeowners can enjoy the benefits of having extra space available to rent out.
The main goal of the concept is to create a single ecosystem whereby anybody can find a comfortable space to work in, as well as to gather a community of like-minded individuals open to collaborating in a new setting.
By December, the company is planning to raise at least £250k in investment, and have over 30,000 workspaces around the UK, including small cities and towns. Flexy has already established partnerships with a network of over 1,000 hosts across the country and is actively looking for more.
Darya Zhexembayeva, one of the directors at Flexy Workspace, commented: “The post-pandemic demand for affordable workspaces is now higher than ever and is escalating every day in light of the world political and economic scene.
“According to statistics, 70 per cent of the global workforce is expected to shift online by 2025, and the world is not yet ready to accommodate such changes. This is a great opportunity for us to grow!”
