Live music line-up announced for returning Morpeth Food and Drink Festival
The countdown is on for the return of Morpeth’s Food and Drink Festival and the stage line-up has now been announced by the Sanderson Arcade team who are organising the event.
As well as a great line-up of “foodie fun”, Morpeth’s Food and Drink Festival will be showcasing regional musical talent. The live music stage returns to the 2022 festival and has been sponsored by the town’s department store, Rutherfords.
Chris Mitchell from Rutherfords, commented: “It’s great to see the food festival return to Morpeth this year following a two-year break. It’s a fantastic event that’s grown significantly over the years attracting people from all over the county.
“We’re proud to show our support and sponsor the fantastic musical talent that will be on offer throughout the weekend for our visitors.”
The stage, which can be found on Bridge Street, will host 11 live acts, kicking things off on Saturday at 11am. The stage will be placed right next to the Street Food Quarter and the Boozy Bar, where attendees can enjoy live entertainment with a drink or street food from the many traders in attendance.
Foodies coming to the event early on Saturday will be able to enjoy performances from Hayley Ellen, Just So and Shagpile & Slaughter. From the afternoon visitors will see the stage welcome back some Food Festival favourites such as Millennium Bug, Tenth Avenue and closing the Saturday stage, Morpeth will welcome Voice of the Town.
On Sunday Molly Mackay will be opening the final day of the food festival followed by performances from Jamie & Georgie, Hot Sauce Trio and Ellie Mae. Kimberly Heron will be the final act on Sunday and will draw the stage to a close.
Centre manager of Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson, added: “We are delighted to see the return of the live music stage at this year’s festival, and we can’t wait to see all the fantastic local acts perform.”
“Huge thanks to Rutherfords for supporting this year’s festival by sponsoring the live music stage.”
