Firethorn Trust appoints Glencar to deliver key northern logistics development
Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has today announced that it has been appointed by repeat customer Firethorn Trust to deliver a 340,000 sq ft logistics/industrial unit at the successful and established Gateway 36 development in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
The 24-acre prime logistics site development, being marketed as Barnsley 340 will comprise of 320,000 sq ft of Grade A logistics accommodation together with 20,000 as ft of office space. It will feature a best-in-class future proofed specification, targeting the BREEAM “Excellent” rating, and delivered as net-zero carbon in construction.
Commenting on the project appointment Pete Goodman Glencar managing director Midlands and North said, “Glencar prides itself on solid partnerships and has built its business on the basis of long-term, mutually successful relationships with our customers. We are therefore delighted to receive our third project instruction to date from Firethorn following other recent appointments in Erith and Peterborough.
