Financial planning service continues support for Opera North

Harrogate based financial planning service bdb has committed to a third year of partnership with Opera North in recognition of the value the arts can play in connecting people and enhancing wellbeing.

Catherine Sherwood from bdb, commented: “We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Opera North for the third consecutive year. Recently, more than ever, the arts have played a key role in promoting wellbeing and delivering joy, and bdb are pleased to be supporting Opera North in their mission.

“We are very much looking forward to our exclusive collaborative event later this year, which we are currently in the process of planning.”

Since the two companies started working together, engagement with the arts has become an integral part of bdb’s philosophy, an enthusiasm it has shared with its clients through an exclusive annual event at Bowcliffe Hall in Leeds.

The partnership has also enabled Opera North to extend its reach by growing both its digital and community presence, ensuring that many more people have the opportunity to interact with music and live performance and to enjoy the associated benefits that arts participation brings.

Richard Mantle, Opera North’s general director, said: “We are delighted to be continuing this partnership with bdb, a highly respected Yorkshire business and one that is as committed as we are to giving people the chance to experience something special, whether on the stage or in their own communities.

“It is through the generous support of bdb and our other Corporate Partners that we are able to continue our work innovating and inspiring people of all ages, and we remain very grateful for their ongoing support.”

A registered charity and one of the UK’s largest arts companies, Opera North is funded through a combination of public and private sources, earned revenue from ticket sales, and support from individual and corporate donors.

Having recently established the Howard Opera Centre, a major home for the arts in the heart of Leeds, the Company aims to build increasingly strong connections with successful business leaders who value the role the arts play in making the north of England a vibrant place to live and work and in helping to maintain both staff and client wellbeing.
