Poke bowl restaurant chain brings “Californian soul” to London and beyond

Growing poke bowl brand, Poke House, has opened its newest restaurant site in St Paul’s, whilst also beginning its UK expansion with the first site confirmed out of the capital.

The newly announced Cambridge restaurant site is due to open in early 2023 and will be the “first of many” Poke House sites outside of London to open.

Poke House’s expansion will also see sites open across the capital, including Battersea Power Station which is due to open on October 14. Further restaurant sites confirmed to open in London include Mayfair, Harvey Nichols, Borough Market and St John’s Wood.

The latest opening in St Paul’s is physically the biggest Poke House site to open in the UK to date, with the 489 sq ft location bringing the brand’s “Californian soul and Hawaiian taste” to more consumers than ever before, right in the heart of London’s central business district.

The brand has an “aggressive growth plan” to continue its roll-out across the capital and the rest of the country. Since launching in the UK in September 2021, with its first site in Notting Hill on Portobello Road, the restaurant brand has now grown to eight bricks and mortar sites in London, with many more in the pipeline.

Holly Hilton, head of marketing, Poke House UK, commented: “We’re always looking to grow the Poke House brand, with new site openings in the best and most iconic locations. We’re all thrilled with our new St Paul’s site and can’t wait to get our famous poke bowls into the hands of customers outside of London too.

“We opened a dark kitchen in Cambridge earlier in the year and the city has responded unbelievably well to our offering, hence why we’re now opening our first bricks and mortar restaurant there. It’s a very exciting time to be a part of Poke House and I’m thrilled to be working for such a visionary brand, which has such a strong proven concept.”

The brand’s “ever-evolving” menu includes a core range of ‘House Specials’ selected by public demand, including Sunny Salmon, Spicy Tuna and Vegan Bowl, as well as their latest seasonal offering the Sea Kiss Bowl.

Dressings are created in-house from a “closely guarded secret recipe” and every bowl is said to be made with fresh ingredients, with all greens and fruit and vegetables delivered daily from “local and trusted” suppliers.
