Battersea Power Station announces Nike as latest retail partner ahead of launch

Battersea Power Station today announced that Nike will open a new store from October 14, when the London landmark will open its doors to the public for the first time in history.

The store will focus on serving consumers in the Battersea neighbourhood, and will span approximately 8,380 sq ft. Nike is the latest retailer to join the mix of British and international brands set to open at Battersea Power Station and on Electric Boulevard, a new pedestrianised high street for London, which will also open from October 14.

Brands already announced to be setting up shop inside the Power Station include Hackett, Theory, Ace + Tate, Castore, Mango, Aēsop and Battersea Bookshop, a new neighbourhood bookshop from renowned London bookseller Stanfords.

Electric Boulevard will be home to a mix of office space, shops, bars and restaurants, a park and an exciting new 164 room hotel from art’otel, the brand’s first hotel to open in London.

Retailers already announced to be opening on Electric Boulevard include high street favourite, ZARA, a new-concept M&S Foodhall and Korean food and culture hub, Oseyo.

Sam Cotton, head of leasing at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC), commented: “Nike is a brand that always strives to offer a unique customer experience and to create a sense of community through its different store concepts, making it the perfect fit for Battersea Power Station.

“From the very beginning community has been at the heart of everything we do and will continue once we open the Power Station’s doors from October 14, offering a one-of-a-kind retail and leisure experience housed in the Power Station’s historic Turbine Halls for all to enjoy.”

Battersea Power Station will be the centrepiece of a new ‘15-minute’ live, work and play neighbourhood, which will act as a new hub for the local and wider communities, a new business quarter for the capital and a retail and leisure destination for Londoners and international visitors.

Once open, the Power Station will be home to 254 residential apartments, over 100 retail shops, restaurants and cafés, including a 24,000 sq ft Arcade Food Hall from JKS Restaurants which will open in 2023, in addition to office and event spaces.

Circus West Village, the first completed chapter in the regeneration of Battersea Power Station, is already home to over 1,800 residents and more than 20 bars, restaurants, cafés, fitness and leisure offerings.
