Maven Capital Partners invests £3m in Bud Systems Limited
National law firm Freeths has advised Maven Capital Partners UK LLP, a leading UK-based private equity and investment firm with over £650m of funds under management, on its £3m investment in Bud Systems Limited.
Bristol-based Bud provides specialist software as a service to apprenticeship and other training organisations to enable the delivery of high-quality, compliant training whilst improving the visibility of progress and performance.
The funding from Maven will be used by Bud to invest further in its core technology platform, while expanding its sales and marketing resources to support growth.
The Freeths legal team was led by Corporate Director Lottie Hugo and Corporate Partner Claus Anderson, assisted by Senior Associates Charlotte Hartwright and Fatima Hammad, Associate Arti Vadher and Trainee Solicitor Paul Wiggins.
Commenting on the deal, Lottie Hugo said: “It was fantastic to work with Luke, Jonathan and the Maven VCT team on this investment and we look forward to seeing Bud’s exciting journey continue in this next key stage of growth. Congratulations to all involved!”
This acquisition follows the Freeths team being Highly Commended in the Corporate Law Firm of the Year category at this year’s Insider South West Dealmakers Awards. The Bristol Corporate team was recognised for its rapid growth of more than 150 per cent year on year since establishing the Freeths Bristol office in 2019.
