North East outdoor clothing brand creates local jobs in latest phase of expansion
North East based outdoor clothing brand, Montane, has announced plans to open a factory shop which is set to act as a “one-stop shop” for performance-driven outdoor clothing and accessories.
The Montane factory shop is due to open its doors this Saturday (October 15) and will be based in a prime location in Ashington just off the North Seaton Roundabout on the A189, Northumberland, a 25-minute drive from Newcastle City Centre.
The new Montane Factory shop will carry a range of end of line styles from insulated, waterproof, and down jackets to base layers, fleece and legwear for men and women at “heavily discounted” prices.
The store will also benefit from factory samples, exclusive styles made specifically for the store and repaired items as part of Montane’s Further Forever approach to sustainability.
The new senior store manager, Ian Henderson, commented: “As Montane’s strong growth trajectory continues and interest in the outdoors continues to grow and evolve, we felt the time was right to build upon our offering in Ashington.
“A key ambition behind the new shop is to invest in the brand on a local level and create a ‘hub’ of stock, old and new seasonal favourites, where you are guaranteed to find a great deal.
“Additionally, we’re very excited about working with local businesses, organisations and clubs who rely on a good quality fit for purpose kit for outdoor adventure and their day-to-day life.”
Montane’s investment in the factory shop has seen six new team hires and will develop the former ‘The Garage’ site on Newbiggin road into a bespoke shop of over 4,000 sq. ft in size.
