Tees Valley Mayor officially opens builders merchant’s 11th site

James Burrell held an opening ceremony with Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor, doing the ribbon cutting honours at their brand-new branch following a £4.5m investment.

The purpose-built four-acre site is the company’s 11th branch and their second in the Teesside area, it’s easily accessible via the A19 Portrack Interchange on White House Innovation Park, New Road TS23 1LE.

The Billingham branch will work alongside the already existing branch in Stockton, bringing a fleet of 11 vehicles and a stock-value of an estimated £2.25m to the trade in the region.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “We’ve got spades in the ground right across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool, whether it be on multi-million redevelopments of our train stations, construction on the Teesworks site continuing or great local businesses like James Burrell expanding and building new facilities all of this creates more demand for firms and more jobs for local people.

“This £4.5m investment in a new Billingham branch will sit alongside their Stockton site to meet the demand for all the work we’ve got going on to transform the region.”
