Leeds United appoints local interior design firm to “transform” new media suite
Commercial interior designers, Design Tonic, have completed a new media suite at the Leeds United training ground at Thorpe Park, near Wetherby.
Designed to match the one at Elland Road, the area that had previously been dormitories has been “completely transformed” by the Leeds based firm.
Director Joe Darcy commented: “Having worked with Leeds United now for over 10 years, it was a great opportunity to upgrade the area and provide facilities befitting of a premiership team.
“Having already created a media suite at Elland Road, the new media suite at Thorpe Arch was a necessary improvement at the site and will also be used for club presentations, conferences and a space for the press to work with the right facilities.
“The room itself is heavily branded; from the logos on the auditorium seats to the ceiling artwork, there’s certainly no mistaking which football club this suite belongs to. Footage from this room is streamed worldwide meaning it was important we included this branded element & ensured we got the designs just right for such a huge global audience.
“Certain elements from the previous Suite were incorporated into the new space for continuity. Dark greys & soft furnishings are featured throughout which creates a sexy, chic vibe.
“Timber cladding & feature lighting help soften these tones & really compliment the room; overall a stunning space any premier league team would be proud to call their own.”
In addition to benefiting the club, the new media suite will be available to hire, benefitting both businesses and the local community.
