Award-winning pizza restaurant comes to Croydon ahead of “exciting” expansion

Award-winning pizza restaurant, Crust Bros, will be opening its third site in Croydon’s BOXPARK on November 7, following success at both long standing Waterloo and Wandsworth sites.

The concession will launch ahead of other “exciting” new openings for the Crust Bros group, including BOXPARK Shoreditch later on in November 2022. Known for its Neapolitan style pizzas with soft leopard print charred crusts and variety of toppings, Crust Bros has become “renowned” around London for its customisable pizza options.

Founder of Crust Bros, Joe Moore, first thought up the concept in 2014 after becoming “obsessed” with the Italian ways of making pizza. Following a six-week tour of Italy, self-proclaimed “dough geek” Joe began the Crust Bros journey selling pizza at London’s many street food markets, including Last Days of Shoreditch and Street Feast.

Following a stint at a shipping container on the Southbank, and London breweries including Camden Town, Fourpure and Beavertown, the first bricks and mortar Crust Bros site opened in Waterloo in 2017. Subsequently, Crust Bros won gold at the National Pizza Awards, Salvo 1968 European Pizza Competition and the Pizza and Pasta Awards.

In 2021, Joe and the Crust Bros team launched the “1 pizza sold = 1 tree planted” promise, ensuring that alongside serving excellent pizza, the restaurants give back to the planet at no expense to their customers.

In partnership with Earthly, Crust Bros has planted over 102,000 trees, the equivalent of removing the footprint of 1,000,000 km driven in a car.

Joe Moore, founder of Crust Bros, commented: “BOXPARK feels like a homecoming for Crust Bros. Having started on the street food scene of London and trading as a pop-up at BOXPARK Shoreditch for a few weekends back in 2014, I’m so psyched to be launching two permanent sites with BOXPARK eight years later”

With BOXPARK Croydon being London’s “biggest food and culture outlet of its kind”, Crust Bros will be in good company with almost 30 other brands from around the world. The team at Crust Bros are “excited” to open its doors to the public and can promise that there will be further new site announcements coming “very soon”.
