Cornish Bakery opens Scottish location at Caledonia Park
Railpen, one of the largest pension managers in the UK, has announced the opening of Cornish Bakery at Caledonia Park, Scotland’s premier designer village. The addition of the 2,500 sq ft independent operator marks the first stage in the evolution of the destination’s F&B offer, with detailed negotiations underway with a number of other F&B brands to join the line-up.
The focus on F&B will provide even greater choice and variety for visitors while also complementing Caledonia Park’s destinational retail mix, which includes kate spade New York, Polo Ralph Lauren, Nike, adidas, BOSS and Crew Clothing.
Maria Averkina, Asset and Development Manager at Railpen, said: “It is great to welcome Cornish Bakery to Caledonia Park, as this marks a key moment in our enhancement of the F&B offer. Our priority is delivering the very best F&B concepts that match the strength of our retail line-up to provide visitors, whether they are regular locals or those travelling from much further afield, with the best choice and variety in the region. We are looking forward to announcing more operators joining Caledonia Park in the coming year as we continue to implement our strategy of constant evolution of the destination.”
The new Cornish Bakery follows the recently completed £10 million upgrade of Caledonia Park by Railpen, which included the addition of new façades, enhancements to the public realm and an upgrade to the carpark.
Reflecting Caledonia Park’s new look, Cornish Bakery has been designed to provide a warm and welcoming environment for visitors. The space uses brickwork, light timbers, feature lighting and a range of seating options, including unique beach huts, to provide a hint of Cornwall for customers.
Caledonia Park’s Cornish Bakery joins the brand’s seven strong UK-wide portfolio, with the independently owned company set to continue its expansion in the coming year.
Steve Grocutt, Founder, at Cornish Bakery, added: “We are excited to have opened our second bakery in Scotland at Caledonia Park as a complement to our recently opened location at Annandale. Our focus remains on launching in settings which return distinctly high yield results and opening in the high-end Caledonia Park does exactly this. What’s more, as a destination shopping village, as well as an ideal stop-off for travellers, Caledonia Park provides us with new opportunities to engage with new consumers, marking it as a key step forward in ambitious expansion plans across the UK.”
Johnstone Property Consultants and Time Retail Partners acted for Caledonia Park. Cornish Bakery were advised by GCW.
