Savills completes sale of York period property to holiday home operator for £1.4m
International real estate advisor Savills, on behalf of TMS Development International Limited, has successfully sold 128 Holgate Road in York to Chateau Anna, a holiday home business specialising in period properties. The building was sold for circa. £1.4m.
Set amongst 0.5 acres of land, 128 Holgate Road spans approximately 6,000 sq ft of space and formerly comprised office accommodation across three floors. The property will now undergo substantial refurbishment to provide residential/holiday apartments.
Situated just over one mile from York city centre, the property is estimated to have been constructed in the early 1900s and retains many of its period features including original floor coverings, fire places, doors and architraves.
The building also boasts a grand entrance hall with feature staircase, high ceilings and large spacious rooms.
Patrick Carter, director at Savills Leeds, comments: “128 Holgate Road presented a rare and exciting development opportunity is a highly desirable location. We’re pleased to have completed the sale which will see the building transform from an office to a period holiday home, marking the next chapter for this grand building.”
