Live event catering company plans expansion in Coventry and Warwickshire
A leading live event catering company is seeking to expand its presence in Coventry and Warwickshire after signing up as a Patron of the region’s destination management organisation (DMO).
Amadeus, part of the NEC Group, has joined Destination Coventry as a Patron member - the seventh organisation to do so since the DMO launched 12 months ago.
Destination Coventry Patrons are members that have pledged to support the wider destination marketing and management efforts undertaken to raise the profile of Coventry and the wider region to national and international audiences.
Amadeus is seeking to expand its portfolio in Coventry and Warwickshire, with its events team able to work with venues in the region for one off events or as an onsite catering provider.
The business already counts Coventry Cathedral and Stratford Racecourse amongst its clients - and has also worked with Coventry Transport Museum and NAEC Stoneleigh. Based at The NEC, Amadeus has a dedicated regional events team, which travels to venues as an out-sourced caterer.
This is as well as catering for all NEC group venues, including The NEC, ICC, VOX and Birmingham live music arenas, Utilita Arena Birmingham and Resorts World Arena. Sharon Lawrence, Account Manager for New Business and External Events at Amadeus, said: “We’re pleased to be joining Destination Coventry as a Patron and really excited about the potential growth of our business in Coventry and Warwickshire.
“Amadeus has worked with a small number of venues in Coventry for several years, but as a business we are always looking to grow and innovate, seeing so many potential opportunities in the region.
“We offer first class catering solutions no matter the venue. All we need is room, running water and power, with our team able to bring more than 40 years’ experience of catering at venues such as the NEC straight to external clients.
“Destination Coventry has a fantastic and dedicated team behind it and we are looking forward to working in partnership with them, to not only grow our business but enhance the offer that the destination can give to event organisers seeking to bring their events to the region.”
Destination Coventry launched in 2021 and includes established brands Visit Coventry and Conference Coventry & Warwickshire.
Its Patron members include CV Life, No Ordinary Hospitality Management, Warwickshire County Council, Coventry City of Culture Trust, Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust and Coventry Building Society Arena.
Paul Jones, Managing Director of Destination Coventry, said: “Our Patron members play a key role in helping to drive the work we do at the organisation. Amadeus is the first catering business to join as Patrons and will bring a new set of expertise to our Patron group.
“Amadeus has been working in the region for many years, however they have identified rightly that Coventry and Warwickshire will be one of the event industry’s key growth areas in the coming years. “We look forward to working closely with Sharon and the rest of the Amadeus team.”
