Jackson Lees bolsters Corporate & Commercial team offering with new employment law lawyer

North West law firm Jackson Lees has welcomed a new employment lawyer to further enhance its service offerings.

Hannah Dowd joins the firm, bringing with her more than 10 years’ experience in the legal sector, being qualified for just over 4 years.

After achieving a law degree at the University of Chester, she went on to study for her LPC at The University of Law in Manchester.

Since entering the legal sector, Hannah has become a specialist in employment law and has experience of supporting both employers and employees in dealing with challenging contentious situations as well as providing routine practical support.

In her new role at Jackson Lees’ Liverpool office, she will play a key role in supporting both individual and business clients with a wide range of issues, such as settlement agreements, discrimination in the workplace, dismissals, the practical application of employment law procedures in the workplace and developing HR documentation.

Hannah said: “I’m extremely proud to join Jackson Lees and I’m eager to apply my broad experience in employment law to help support clients through any legal challenges they face in the workplace.

“I was attracted to work at Jackson Lees because their culture is focused on making a positive difference and creating access to justice for the people who need it most. There are so many opportunities for development through training and working with like-minded professionals, but also a heavy focus on work-life balance, which is so invaluable to me as a mum of two young boys.

“My passion for employment law started during my training contract and I pride myself on being empathetic and building strong, trusting client relationships which, I believe, is key to getting the best possible outcomes.”

Hannah is passionate about giving marginalised groups access to justice, ensuring clear understanding of the law for clients, and has been involved in Equality & Diversity committees in past roles.

Esther Leach, Managing Director at Jackson Lees, said: “We’re really excited to welcome Hannah to the team and already know she will be a huge asset to our employment law provision.

“Hannah’s results-driven approach and incredible knack for negotiation stood out to us, both of which are key when it comes to legal disputes in the workplace, whether on behalf of an employer or employee.

“Her broad experience in both commercial and high street law will help to diversify what Jackson Lees can offer in this field and provide essential insight to our more people who are eager to learn.”
